Pendant: photo to 3D CAD, gold weight and price
Pendants are small and mostly stone or motif, so a photo carries almost everything needed. Upload it; the studio rebuilds the body, bail and chain, weighs the metal and prices the stone.
The numbers that matter
- Chain length
- 40–45 cm sits at the collarbone; 50–60 cm mid-chest; the chain is often the heavier part.
- Bail
- Must clear the chain's width; a 4 mm bail takes chains up to about 2.5 mm.
- Weight
- A 12 mm 18K pendant with a 1 ct stone weighs 1.5–2.5 g; a 45 cm 1.5 mm chain 3–4 g.
- Stones
- Bezel-set pendants protect the stone and hang straight; prong-set show more light.
