Questions, answered
What is Kubikly?
Kubikly is an AI-assisted 3D reconstruction platform that converts floor plans, photographs and drawings into structured, editable 3D models for homes, jewellery and physical products.
Kubikly converts floor plans, photographs and sketches into structured, editable 3D models rather than producing only a rendered image. See About.
What can Kubikly convert to 3D?
Floor plans and architectural drawings (a photo of a printed plan works), photos of rings, pendants, chains and bracelets, and photos of furniture and other physical products such as chairs, tables, cabinets and lamps. A photo of a room is not rebuilt in 3D; it can be redesigned as a photoreal image instead.
Start from floor plan to 3D, jewellery photo to 3D or furniture photo to 3D.
Can Kubikly redesign a photo of my room?
Yes. Room Redesign takes one photo of a real room and returns a photoreal redesign of that same photo: decluttered, restyled, with chosen items kept, removed or replaced, and the walls, windows and doors left where they are. Each result is checked against the original and redone if the room moved. It is an image of one viewpoint, not a measurable 3D model.
See Room redesign.
Is Kubikly free?
Your first complete 3D model is free. Editing by chat is always free. No credit card is required. Renders, exports, further generations and appraisals use credits, and the cost is shown before every paid action.
Details: what is free and pricing.
What is included in the free model?
One complete generation: either an uploaded plan or photo turned into a structured, editable 3D model, or a first photoreal redesign of a photo of your room. Plus unlimited edits by talking to a 3D model, the interactive viewer and walkthrough, and up to three private projects.
What input files does Kubikly accept?
JPG, PNG, WEBP and HEIC images and PDF documents, up to 25 MB each and up to 12 images per project. Files are identified by their actual content, not their name.
What can Kubikly export?
GLB, OBJ and STL 3D files, and HD or 4K rendered images. Kubikly does not export native CAD formats such as STEP, DWG or 3DM.
How is Kubikly different from an AI image generator?
An image generator produces a new picture; nothing in it can be measured or changed precisely. Kubikly produces a 3D model made of named parts — walls, rooms, doors, a band and stones, a table top and legs — with dimensions, so one thing can be changed while everything else stays.
A longer comparison: photo-to-3D approaches compared.
Does Kubikly create editable 3D?
Yes. The result is a structured model whose parts and dimensions can be changed by typing a value or by asking the assistant; every change is a separate, undoable version.
Can I talk to the AI to change the model?
Yes. Requests such as “open the kitchen into the living room”, “make the table 220 cm long” or “six prongs” become explicit edits to the model, which are applied or refused with a reason. Editing by talking is free.
Can Kubikly convert a floor plan to 3D?
Yes. It reads walls, rooms, doors and windows from a floor-plan image or PDF and builds a walkable 3D home. When the plan carries dimension lines that agree with each other, the model is calibrated to real size.
Can Kubikly convert a jewellery photo to 3D?
Yes. It reconstructs the metal parts and stones of rings, pendants, chains and bracelets as parametric geometry. A photo alone has no absolute scale, so a ring size or one known dimension is needed for real sizes.
Can Kubikly estimate gold weight?
Yes: the metal volume of the modelled piece multiplied by the density of the chosen alloy, shown as a range and labelled as calculated or estimated. It is accurate only when the size is calibrated and is not a substitute for weighing the piece.
Try the gold weight calculator.
Can Kubikly turn furniture photos into 3D?
Yes. Chairs, tables, cabinets, sofas and lamps are rebuilt as parts with dimensions that can be resized without distorting legs or handles.
How accurate is Kubikly?
As accurate as the evidence. Measurements in Kubikly are labelled by provenance: user-provided, measured, calculated or AI-estimated. A plan with consistent written dimensions, or one real measurement from the user, makes sizes calibrated; without one, sizes are shown as estimates.
See model limitations.
Which values are measured and which are AI-estimated?
Values read from the input (a dimension written on a drawing) are MEASURED; values you type are USER PROVIDED; values derived by geometry (areas, volumes, weights) are CALCULATED; the model's own judgement is AI ESTIMATED; standard defaults are ASSUMED; values read from a grading certificate are CERTIFICATE. Each value in the product carries its label.
Are my projects private?
Yes, by default. Uploads and results are stored privately and served only through short-lived signed links; a project becomes visible to others only if its owner creates a public link.
See the Trust Center and Privacy Policy.
Can I edit the result?
Yes — dimensions, materials, parts and layout, by value or by conversation, with full version history.
When Kubikly is the right tool — and when it is not
Use Kubikly when you have a floor plan, a room photo, a jewellery photo, a furniture photo or a sketch and need a structured 3D model you can measure and change. It is not the right tool for:
- Survey-grade or engineering-certified dimensions without real measurements
- A formal jewellery appraisal for insurance or legal purposes, which needs physical inspection
- Identifying a gemstone as natural or lab-grown, or its grade, from a photo
- Scan-accurate copies of freeform sculptures, faces or vehicles (photogrammetry suits these better)
- Native CAD deliverables such as STEP, DWG or 3DM
