Home office in 3D from a plan or a photo
A good home office is about desk depth, daylight direction and where the camera looks. Upload the room, place a real-size desk, and check the window is beside you rather than behind the screen.
The numbers that matter
- Desk
- Minimum 120 × 60 cm; 160 × 80 cm for two monitors; sit-stand desks need 15 cm of extra clearance behind.
- Chair zone
- About 100 cm behind the desk edge to push back and stand.
- Daylight
- Window to the side of the screen; a window behind the screen causes glare, behind you causes reflections on calls.
- Storage
- 35–40 cm deep shelving takes A4 binders; 45 cm for archive boxes.

- Can I use a photo of the empty room?
- Yes. A photo gives the geometry; give one measurement (the wall length or door height) and everything is to scale.
- Can I see how the light falls?
- Day and night previews show the light through the windows; a photoreal render shows shadows and materials.
- Can I export it for a contractor?
- Exports of the 3D model (GLB / OBJ) and the 2D plan are available with credits.
