Change the look, keep the layout

Most people cannot move a wall, a window or a radiator, and many do not want to: the layout works, the look does not. Room Redesign is built around that. The architecture in your photo is the frame every result has to keep, and each result is checked against it before you see it.

Bare loft corner to organic modern

Asked: “Organic modern, keep the old wooden table.” · Clean & redesign · Organic Modern

The old table, the chair, the stool, the brick wall and the window are kept; the floor is swept and a jute rug, lamp, basket and plants are added.

Things you can ask for

  • “Organic modern, keep the old wooden table.”
  • “Keep everything where it is and change only colours and textiles”
  • “New furniture in the same places: sofa on the left wall, armchair by the window”
  • “Keep the built-in wardrobe and the radiator cover, restyle the rest”
  • “No painting, because I rent: change furniture, lighting and textiles only”

What stays, and how it is checked

Before anything is designed, the analysis records the fixed architecture in your photo (walls, windows, doors, ceiling, radiators and built-ins) with where each sits in the frame, and the design specification is written around it. After the photo is edited, two checks run. An edge-geometry comparison with your original catches walls, windows and door frames that have shifted. An independent visual check confirms it is the same room from the same viewpoint, with windows, doors and walls unchanged, the style applied and a realistic result.

A result that moved the room is retried, up to three attempts. If none passes, the job stops and the credits are refunded automatically.

Keeping the furniture layout too

The architecture is always kept. Whether the furniture arrangement is kept depends on the mode and your marks:

  • Redesign keeps the room and its layout and changes the style, finishes and furniture where you want.
  • Pieces marked Keep stay in the design.
  • To replace something in the same place, say so: “a new sofa on the same wall”.
  • Full transformation replaces everything movable; the architecture stays, but the new furniture can be arranged differently.

Good reasons to keep a layout

In most rooms the layout was decided by things you cannot change: where the window lets light in, where the radiator is, which wall the door swings against, where the sockets are. A new style that ignores them looks good in a picture and fails in real life. Starting from your own photo means the design starts from those constraints too. In the example on this page, the brick wall, the window, the old table, the chair and the stool all stayed.

When you do want to move walls

Room Redesign does not change architecture; that is the point of it. To open up a kitchen, move a door or see a different footprint, you need a model of the home rather than a photo. The floor-plan-to-3D studio builds an editable 3D home from a floor plan, and the AI house designer changes it by talking.

Frequently asked

Will the walls and windows always stay in place?
They are checked on every result, and a result that moved them is retried, so they should. Small details such as a socket or a picture frame can still differ; treat the design as a concept, not a survey.
Can I keep the furniture positions but change its style?
Yes. Ask for replacements in the same positions, or mark pieces Keep to leave them as they are.
Can it show my room with a wall removed?
No. For changes to walls, windows or doors, build the home from a floor plan in the floor-plan-to-3D studio.
I rent and cannot paint. Can it respect that?
Yes. Say so in the request, for example “keep the walls and floor as they are”, and the change comes from furniture, textiles, lighting and decor.
